THE CHOPAL

Away from the hue and cry of the city life, there exists a peaceful world which is completely different from it due to its environment, life style, norms and culture.        This world is known as village. Life in village is very charming, attractive, pure and beautiful with all aspects. Although our cities have most recent facilities, resources, technologies and other comforts of life but village life is not lagging behind as far as peace, fairness and ethical values in village are concerned.

Villagers get together at a specific meeting place inside or outside the village after their daily hard work and busy schedule. This place is called Chopal. The Chopal is almost the center of all activities of villagers (male) of all ages. Here, they not only meet each other but also seek advices, give opinions and suggestions and settle their disputes, issues and problems under the guidance of the elders of the society. Children also play there and the young people plan their career path and put their comments and arguments over current affairs either local or international.   

Not only this they discuss and settle other issues related to society, village, crops, irrigation, cultivation and marriages with great concern. They also have their meetings with their guests in the Chopal. It will not be wrong in saying that from social, political, educational and ethical point of aspects ; Chopal is the most important need of villagers without which village life is incomplete and colourless.
